The YES believes that every young person should have the chance to experience camp, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Although the cost of camp is already subsidized, we, along with our generous supporters, make every effort to make camp accessible to all families and their children. Every year many participants attend our summer camp programs through camper sponsorship provided by various Credit Unions and Cooperatives in B.C.

While we do our best to find sponsors and match them with eligible campers, you will find a few ways that can make camp more accessible for you and your camper below.

Set Up a Payment Plan

To make camp as accessible as possible, The YES has options for parents to pay for camp using a flexible payment plan.

We encourage all families applying for sponsorship or subsidy to register for camp as soon as possible and set up a payment plan that works for them. This helps secure your participant’s spot at camp and allows you to make manageable payments while your application is being reviewed. If sponsorship or subsidy is approved, we can arrange refunds for any payments already made, or adjust your payment plan accordingly.

The deadline for all Summer Camp payments is September 15th.

There are two ways parents can set up Payment Plans:

1. During registration, set up monthly payments from time of registration until September 15th. You will pay the initial registration fee on the day you register. After this, you will make eight equal payments until September 15th.

Ex. You registered your camper on January 21st. You will be charged the same amount every month for eight months until September 15th. Your first payment will be on January 21st.

2. Email us at info@theyes.ca for a custom payment plan.

Ex. You want to pay for 50% of camp upfront and set up a payment plan for the remaining total.

Ex. You want to make four equal payments starting from registration date, ending September 15th.

Please note: These scenarios are examples. The amount you are charged and when will change based on your registration date.

Apply for Subsidy from The YES

In our effort to make camper fees more affordable for those who need financial support, our office offers partial subsidies for our Summer Camp program.

We encourage all families applying for a subsidy to register for camp as soon as possible and set up a payment plan that works for them. This helps secure your participant’s spot at camp and allows you to make manageable payments while your application is being reviewed. If a subsidy is approved, your payment plan can be adjusted accordingly.

Subsidy request forms must be submitted minimum two weeks prior to camp, but the sooner the better.

Please note that while we would love to support every family that applies, our funding is limited and we may not be able to provide subsidies to all applicants. We do our best to distribute support as fairly as possible so that more youth can access the camp experience. At this time, first time participants of The YES Camp will be prioritized. We encourage families to consider finding sponsorship through their local credit unions and cooperatives as well. Ask your Local Co-op/Credit Union for Sponsorship

The YES Camp has a history with credit unions and co-operatives. As such, we encourage anyone interested in sponsorships to reach out to their local co-op or credit union and ask if they provide full or partial sponsorships for summer camp. We also encourage you to reach out to Local Service Clubs (Rotaries, Lions Club, Elks), and Friendship Centres.

For those who reside in Housing Co-ops, please reach out to your Board of Directors for more information about camper sponsorship.

We encourage all families applying for sponsorship to register for camp as soon as possible and set up a payment plan that works for them. This helps secure your participant’s spot at camp and allows you to make manageable payments while your application is being reviewed. This also allows us to gather your membership information which helps us connect participants with sponsors.

We encourage anyone interested in sponsorship to reach out to the potential sponsors as soon as possible as sponsorships are often first come, first served. If sponsorship is approved, we can arrange refunds for any payments already made, or adjust your payment plan accordingly.

However, support can be found beyond these sponsors as most credit unions and co-operatives are looking to hear from their own community members. If you don't see your co-op or credit union, consider asking them if they're interested in sponsorship using this Draft Letter Template.

YES Camp Student Awards

Through The YES Camp Student Awards Initiative, BC school teachers are invited to nominate students who demonstrate potential for our annual sponsorship draw.

Good candidates are youth who:

Would benefit greatly from connecting to an inclusive and supportive community of their peers from across BC
Demonstrate potential for leadership in community building, relationship building or co-operation
Show interest in being of service to others (their peers, school, or larger community)

We are interested in supporting youth who may not be the recipients of other awards, but show potential and promise as caring and conscientious members of their communities. We do our best to distribute support as fairly as possible so that more youth can access the camp experience. At this time, first time participants of The YES Camp will be prioritized.

Sponsorships are available each year to eligible students (grades 8-12), and students who are not selected are welcome to register for the program independently and seek out sponsorship or subsidy outside of the YES Camp Student Awards.

Students are welcome to share this award with their teachers, and make a request for their nomination.
