DYNAMIC FACILITATION
Dynamic Facilitation is a training for facilitators, educators, professionals and community leaders who want to explore what it looks like to be a more dynamic facilitator. This means expanding your capacity, your toolkit, your repertoire and your overall range as a facilitator.
This approach is about engaging more of who we are as human beings. It's about bringing in the body, the imagination, the heart and the ingenious mind. Research suggests that active engagement in learning significantly increases retention rates and integration. A dynamic approach keeps people present and more committed to showing up again and again. It's about designing a program that doesn't just ask your participants to sit and listen, but instead engages them fully, ignites their energy and offers them the opportunity to contribute and get involved.
At the heart of this work, dynamic facilitation is a calling. A calling to expand yourself. To step into your own ability and utilize more of what you already have. Sometimes we don't realize how much we have inside us and how these gifts can be incorporated into our own unique facilitation style. To arrive at this training is to hear this call and show up to grow.
Join us, in a journey of expansion, fun and facilitation competency.

Meet the Facilitators

Chelsea Lake
Chelsea first encountered The YES Camp back in 1999 as a participant in the program. Her profound and transformative experience inspired her to pour her time and energy into The YES. She worked as a volunteer, summer student and administrator before becoming Camp Director in 2009. Having worked with thousands of youth through The YES Camp, classroom workshops and Change it Up! program, Chelsea feels honoured to be able to support and witness the formation of life-changing communities and relationships with The Youth Excellence Society. Her work with the program inspired her to complete her Master of Education in Leadership Studies at the University of Victoria. She brings to The YES a rich history with the organization as well as masterful facilitation skills and a deep knowledge of leadership and education.

Warren Hooley
Warren Hooley is originally from Penticton, British Columbia. Having mixed roots of Okanagan/Syilx, English and Ukrainian heritage, Warren has passionately facilitated over 2500 workshops over the past 13 years on topics like Compassionate Communication (NVC), and A Values Approach to Decolonization and Healthy Masculinity.
Today, living in Vancouver B.C, Warren’s overall vision is to help create communities where every single person can thrive and live a sustainable fulfilling life. Warren likes to weave in engaging activities, fascinating diagrams and and practice time for skills that can create genuine change in people's lives.
