The Duke of Edinburgh International award is a global framework that encourages youth to work together through a series of activities as independent leaders and collaborative teammates to achieve their goals, overcome challenges, and connect with the environment.

The YES offers a Bronze Award level Adventurous Journey Program containing three phases and taking place in various locations on Southern Vancouver Island.
Adventure Package Details
COST: $210 ($25 registration fee + $185 program cost)
ENTIRE PROGRAM DURATION:
September 7 - September 24
BRONZE LEVEL AWARD
The Adventurous Journey contains three phases, each of which are included in the package, and must be completed to obtain the Bronze Level Award. Participants must be available for each of the following dates, and cannot omit any component of the program.

Zoom Welcome Session + Planning
September 7th
The first phase of the Adventurous Journey will take place virtually. Participants will be meeting via Zoom to engage with their teams and plan for their wilderness adventure.
Practice Journey
September 14th at PKOLS Park - 11AM-5PM
Participants will gather for their first wilderness adventure for an afternoon of team-building and leadership skill-development. Participants arrive at 11AM and leave at 5PM.
Qualifying Journey
September 22-23 at Goldstream Provincial Park
Participants will complete their Adventurous Journey and achieve the Bronze Level Duke of Edinburgh Award through an overnight wilderness adventure at Goldstream Provincial Park Groupsite. This component also completes the requirement for the Silver Award practice journey.
