The YES (Youth Excellence Society) is looking for individuals willing to work towards the growth of our provincial youth leadership program including camps, school workshop programs and other initiatives. We’re looking for people passionate about youth empowerment, education and co-operative leadership. The YES is a well established Vancouver based organization with a 40 year history of providing high quality youth programming from young people from across the province.
We have an engaged and diverse board of directors, and are interested in adding new members with skill-sets and experience relating to:
- Education and the BC school system
- Facility or site partnership and development
- Organizational growth and development
- Financial stability and fundraising
- Charity finance
- The credit union sector
We’d love to have people apply who have skills and/or contacts in one or more of these areas.
The YES holds 6-8 board meetings per year in Vancouver. Directors are expected to attend these in person, or if not possible, then by phone. In addition directors should be available to sit on a committee and provide a few hours per month of work towards The YES’ goals. This is a governance board with a fair degree of active involvement in the oversight of The YES programs.
