Teens Share Their Experiences of COVID-19

Hello folks! As we pass the 1 month marker of physical isolation, we wanted to take some time to hear from teens about their experiences of COVID-19. We are so often hearing about the experience of adults, especially health care and other essential service workers, and we were looking to include the voices of some youth, often some of the most resourceful and innovative in society, as we navigate this crisis together.

This week's episode is short - only 21 minutes - and contains perspectives of four teens from across BC. It's available for online streaming here, or on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

I asked each of the past YES participants we spoke to for a couple of their favourite camp photos, and I'd like to share them with you here. Chelsea and I were so happy to receive calls from (in order of their photos, below) McKenna, Scarlet, Colleen, and Cassy. What a wonderful opportunity to connect from Lekwungen and WSANEC territories (in the city called Victoria) to Fort Nelson, Ucluelet, East Vancouver, and Rossland!

This week we're asking for voicemails about gratitude - we'd love to hear from you about who or what you're grateful for! Give us a call and leave us a message at 604-960-1377 or send us a voice memo at info@theyes.ca

With love,

Lauren
