On episode 9 of Care Package, Chelsea and I discuss big and small news of the world and we also speak to one of our volunteer staff, Gerard!
In news, we talk about LGBTQ+ pride, invasive species, TV, bikes, and whales:
For more information on Operation Hidden Mitten, here's an article with some phenomenal photos from National Geographic.
Below, I've included an incredible photo by Ian McGrath of Chelsea on her paddleboard (with puppy accompaniment) off Hornby Island - to hear more about this magical experience, make sure you listen to episode 9!
In case you're wondering about the beautiful bike from Bassi Bikes that I've fallen in love with, here's a photo in all its baby pink glory for your enjoyment:
In our conversation with Gerard, we talk about his unusual introduction to The YES (he's one of our few staff who didn't come to camp as a participant), cooking - including hundreds of gyoza and customizing recipes, working in an essential service, and an old video game, Champions of Norath. Gerard has an incredible sense of humour and is a joy to speak to.
As always, I hope this finds you well. We're drafting policies and changes for the summer while optimistically planning for (small) camps to run. Looking forward to speaking with you about The YES' role in your 2020.
