Staff
The YES Staff team are an incredible group of over 50 individuals from around BC. While the majority of our staff are YES Camp Alumni, we also welcome other highly skilled individuals with experience in youth leadership, education, empowerment and counselling. The application process to join the YES Staff team is highly competitive, and the quality of our facilitators is second to none.
Our staff range in age from 17 to mid-30′s. Some are recent graduates of The YES programs, while other have been volunteering for over 15 years! Our team is very diverse in its skills. We have a number of BC teachers, as well as qualifications from mediation, counselling, social work, to outdoor recreation, yoga and much more.
The YES Staff team focuses a lot of time and energy on team-building, program development, and skill development. Our extensive Staff Training program each year concentrates on facilitation skills, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, leadership, and self-development. YES Staff are in a perpetual state of learning and growth, with an emphasis put on skill development through goal setting and mentorship.
Our staff team also includes many individuals certified in first-aid and lifeguarding, and each week of camp includes four staff members dedicated to these tasks.
